Between Everywhere and Nowhere is a record that I began working in 2022.

As Roe v. Wade was under threat, my news consumption began to skyrocket (it felt like a drug). The upending of this important legislation turned a public health crisis into even more of a fiasco. The criminalization of pregnant people’s health decisions is beyond archaic. I was hoping we would be seeing better news, but as it turned out, my hopes were too high.

After the Supreme Court’s decision, I took it personally and along with a wave of other factors entered a depression. Music will always be a part of me, but at this point I couldn’t bring myself to do much musically except open tunings and drones.

After a few weeks, I naturally began to gain some energy back and get into a better mental space. One challenge was that my sleep schedule began to invert. I was sleeping much of the day but had been wide awake at night. I decided to attempt to turn lemons into lemonade and try to write music. The isolation of the middle of the night is a great time to focus. Everything flowed so well.

Since then, my sleep has normalized, and the bulk of the weight that is carried through depression is gone. I was able to finalize the record this year.

I hope that as you listen to this it will bring you the same comfort and peace that it brought me during the creation process.
